Nothing went smoothly all day — disappeared files, a wrong turn, keys in the recycling bin — and then I sat in Friday traffic on a drive I had chosen, arguing with its conditions. A reflection on impatience, acceptance, and patience as a capacity that expands and contracts rather than a trait we either have or lack.

What Acceptance Really Means When Life Gets Hard

Acceptance is not giving up. It requires more honesty than pushing does. This week it showed up in the comparison I caught myself making, in the day I chose not to force it, and in the moment chaos arrived and I had to decide who I was going to be in it.
